The Life And Music of George Michael

As the first biographical musical of the season, The Life and Music of George Michael chronicles the incredible life of an iconic musician. Showcasing songs from Wham! and moving through his solo career, this is a must-see for any fan of George Michael or for those who enjoy learning more about musicians and their journeys.

TINA- The Tina Turner Musical
Dates: November 21-23
Venue: Fisher Theatre
Not long after The Life And Music of George Michael comes TINA, another biographical musical exploring a musical icon. Dubbed as the Queen of Rock ‘n Roll, Tina Turner commanded the stage with her powerful voice and upbeat music, making her the perfect icon to base a musical on. From her humble beginnings in Tennessee to topping the charts with hits like “Shake a Tail Feather” and “River Deep Mountain High”, TINA promises to be a good time.

Monty Python’s Spamalot
Date: January 27-31, 2026
Venue: Fisher Theatre
Based on the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, this revival recently took Broadway by storm, blending the story’s unique humor with music and lyrics that take audiences back to the golden age of theater. Parodying the King Arthur and the Round Table legend, Spamalot will have you laughing until you cry.

The Phantom of The Opera
Dates: February 4- February 15, 2026
Venue: Detroit Opera House
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s magnum opus returns to the Detroit Opera House, which is the perfect venue to witness The Phantom of the Opera! This Rock Opera musical has stood the test of time as one of longest longest-running shows on Broadway (prior to closing back in April 2023). The story of Christine, Raoul, and the Phantom is one for the ages and definitely a show you won’t want to miss.

Kinky Boots
Dates: February 5-8, 2026
Venue: Fisher Theatre
Inspired by true events and based on the 2005 film of the same name, Kinky Boots features music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein. This musical follows Charlie Price, who teams up with cabaret performer and drag queen, Lola, to save his father’s shoe factory! With six Tony wins to its name, such as Best Musical, Kinky Boots has plenty of promise and is ready to warm the hearts of audiences here in Detroit!

The Simon & Garfunkel Story
Dates: February 28, 2026
Venue: Fisher Theatre
American folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel were one of the best-selling musical acts of the 1960s with songs such as “Mrs. Robinson,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” and “America.” Now, audiences can witness the story of the musical geniuses behind the group with The Simon & Garfunkel Story! From their humble origins to becoming stars in their own right, The Simon & Garfunkel Story pulls back the curtain and shows the world just who these two men truly are.

Disney’s The Lion King
Dates: March 12- April 5, 2026
Venue: Detroit Opera House
The 2025-2026 season brings not just one, but two Disney Broadway shows to Detroit! The Lion King is a classic musical currently running on Broadway, telling the story of Simba and his friends as he attempts to save his pride from the evil Scar! With all the songs you grew up on and costumes that somehow capture the world, The Lion King on stage is a Disney musical that celebrates the circle of life and is perfect for families of all ages.

Mamma Mia!
Dates: March 24-29, 2026
Venue: Fisher Theatre
ABBA is having a moment right now on Broadway, with Mamma Mia! And Chess both currently running in New York City. However, next year the beloved musical returns to Detroit! When Sophie invites three possible fathers to her wedding, how will her mother, Donna, respond? Mamma Mia! is full of heart and filled with songs that everyone knows and loves.

Hamilton
Dates: April 29- May 17, 2026

Closing out this season is everyone’s favorite history lesson! Hamilton returns to the Fisher Theatre, exploring the story of the American Revolution and the early years of building our government. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s music and lyrics, combined with period-specific costumes and a set, make for a unique experience that has to be seen live!
