Catch Me If You Can — A Mystery

Date: October 8- November 2

Directed by Travis W. Walter, Catch Me If You Can is a twist-driven whodunit infused with wit and suspense. Based on the play by Robert Thomas and penned by Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert, this thriller presents a comedic, theatrical puzzle that promises to keep audiences guessing. While on his honeymoon at a mountain lodge, a Michigan advertising man’s life is turned upside down when his wife goes missing. However, when a mysterious girl arrives on his doorstep, insisting she’s his missing wife, the man is thrust into a mystery much bigger than himself.

Director Travis W. Walter returns for the second show of the season, A Christmas Carol! Charles Dickens’ timeless ghost story—with the adaptation by Charles Nolte—returns amid the holiday season, a staple for Holiday lovers in the Metro Detroit area for the past 43 years. Meadow Brook Theatre draws on tradition and ensemble storytelling to deliver emotional clarity and nostalgia. Revisit this classic tale, which is as heartwarming as it is bone-chilling!

All Shook Up

All Shook Up

Date: January 7- February 1, 2026

Powered by the songs of Elvis Presley, Joe DiPietro’s energetic jukebox musical brings romance, rebellion, and ’50s swagger to the stage. Set in 1955, the story follows a young man in mid-America who seeks to change the status quo, making people quiver in their blue suede shoes. This production of All Shook Up is a collaboration with Oakland University’s School of Music, Theatre & Dance. MBT’s choice of this title reflects its capacity for bold musical storytelling.

This uplifting musical, with book, music, and lyrics by Irene Stankoff and David Hein, recounts the true story of strangers stranded in Gander, Newfoundland, following the September 11, 2001, attacks. In a time of fear, isolated from family and friends in a foreign country, Come From Away shares the hope that comes from coming together in the darkest of times. The narrative of kindness and community under pressure will resonate deeply with audiences of all ages.

Million Dollar Quartet

Date: April 22- May 17, 2026

With a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, direction by Travis Walter, Million Dollar Quartet focuses on one of the most legendary jam sessions to have ever existed. Fate brings together Johnny CashElvis PresleyJerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins on a December day in 1956 at Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee, where secrets are formed, promises are broken, and a celebration of music is found. Million Dollar Quartet is an energetic musical that celebrates the roots of rock ’n’ roll with vivid storytelling and memorable music.

Always a Bridesmaid

Always a Bridesmaid

Date: May 27- June 21

Closing out the season, Travis Walter brings Always a Bridesmaid, a story from the writers of The Golden Girls and Kingdom Come, to Meadow Brook Theatre! A warm, comedic ensemble that revisits lifelong friendship from prom night to adulthood, this play by Jones, Hope & Wooten explores loyalty, love mishaps, and Southern charm. MBT adds a dash of heartfelt humor to the season’s close, ending the season on a high note!
